Film Deconstruction number one(The Incredibles)

Here I have collected several stil shots of the first two minutes of the Disney Pixar film The Incredibles.
1) The first image shows the first production company of the film. This motion picture Pixar lasts for around 5-8seconds. Credits have been chosen to be shown at the end of the film rather than the start.
2) This image of walt disney lasts for around 5-10 seconds. Overall both production companies shown at the start only take up the first 15-20 seconds of the opening scene. This enables the viewer to engage in the opening scene without getting bored.
3) The first character is introduced in a direct, over the waist shot accompanied by the characters name enabling the viewer to immediately recognise the main chracter.
4) The three chracter's introductions are broken up by this first image of an old camera rolling style(in black and white) of the original production company of the film in order to eventually present the title of the film that follows.
5) The next female chracter is presented in the same style as the first, with few changes such as the feminine colour background purple and the camera shot being slightly higher than the latter.
6) The third and final character introdcued is shown for a slightly longer period of time than the others and the camera shot moves slightly higher again and the character is revealed less.
7) The first character is shown again.
8) The second is shown once more then fades as the title fades on.
9) The title exactly 2minutes into the film, the symbol is shown first then followed by the worded title. There is dialogue throught the first two minutes but no music.

Questionnaire

We devised a questionnaire with questions relevant to what people would prefer at the start of a film. For the answers to the questions we added tabs with a selection of choices in order for the target audience to choose out of the collection of answers we thought were best.

Initial Decisions

During the first week of our Media project(To create the opening of a new fiction film,to last a maximum of two minutes), Lucy and I,my chosen partner for the task, decided on the Genre of our film on the basis of what we generally prefered and what we thought would potentially be the best for the opening of our film. Prior to this decision we wrote down all of our ideas in a brainstorm.
These were some of our ideas that could be included as part of our film:
Influence from current programmes Misfits,Trueblood and Skins.
War time settings
Traintracks
Super Heroes
Action scene icluding a mysterious man with a briefcase
Chikens?
Invloving a night vision camera

Our decision for the genre was a thriller/comedy.
